Terms of Use
Last updated: July 20, 2026
These terms govern your use of the KeepsakeCodes website at keepsakecodes.net ("the site").
By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. Informational use only
KeepsakeCodes provides free, general-purpose utilities that generate QR code artwork in your browser. Generated codes and the on-page scannability verification are provided for general informational purposes. The verification indicates that a render decoded correctly on your device at screen resolution; it is not a certification of any printed or physical result, and no professional relationship is created by your use of the site.
2. No guarantee of suitability
We work to keep the generators accurate — rendering logic is decode-tested and documented (see the methodology page) — but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Scanning depends on print size, materials, lighting, and the scanning device. You are responsible for test-scanning a printed code with a real phone before relying on it for any occasion or consequential use.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:
- Interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or its security;
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content by automated means in a manner that burdens the service;
- Encode content into codes that is unlawful, or use generated codes to deceive, defraud, or direct people to malicious destinations;
- Use photos or other material in a code without the rights to do so — you are responsible for the content you encode and the images you use;
- Use the site to develop or distribute malware or to conduct fraudulent activity.
4. Your content and your codes
You keep all rights to the content you encode and the photos you use; because everything is processed in your browser, we never receive them. Codes you generate are yours to use for any lawful personal or commercial purpose, without attribution or watermark.
5. Intellectual property
The site's own content — including text, explanations, frame artwork designs, page design, and code — is owned by the site operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use the tools and quote brief excerpts with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions of the site or its content as your own.
6. Third-party services and advertising
The site may display third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) and may link to third-party sites. Those services and sites are governed by their own terms and policies; KeepsakeCodes is not responsible for their content or practices. The presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement.
7. Availability and modification
We may add, change, suspend, or remove tools or content at any time, and may modify these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the site — though codes already generated are static images that keep working regardless of the site's availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site or reliance on any code or verification it produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator’s principal place of business, and disputes are subject to the courts competent for that place, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country or state of residence provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited by agreement.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact page.
